About us
Founder-led advice. Lender-side experience of buyout debt.
MBOFinance.co.uk is run by a former banker who sat on the credit side of corporate and property lending for 25 years, not a broker who started life on commission. The difference shows in how a buyout is structured, which funders see it and what the debt ends up costing.

What we do
We are a specialist, founder-led source of management buyout finance. We help UK management teams fund the purchase of the business they run: full and partial management buyouts, management buy-ins and BIMBOs, private equity backed deals, employee ownership trust transitions and shareholder or partner buyouts. Everything we arrange is unregulated business finance to a limited company or LLP.
We build the funding structure first, senior debt, cash flow lending, asset based facilities, vendor loan notes and equity, then place each layer with the funder that prices it best across banks, debt funds and asset based lenders across the UK market. We package the case the way a credit committee expects to see it, manage the funder through due diligence and legals, and stay involved until the money draws on completion.
Construction Capital portfolio
Construction Capital is the portfolio brand under which Lenzie Consulting Ltd operates its specialist finance sites. MBOFinance.co.uk operates as a trading name of Lenzie Consulting Ltd. MBOFinance.co.uk is a trading style of Lenzie Consulting Ltd, which is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We arrange unregulated business finance for UK limited companies and limited liability partnerships only, including management buyout debt, asset based lending and vendor finance. We do not arrange consumer credit, regulated mortgage contracts, or lending to sole traders and small partnerships that falls within the Consumer Credit Act; where a case would need FCA permission we refer it to an FCA-authorised firm. We are not a lender and we do not give tax, legal or investment advice.
Sister sites include LeveragedBuyoutFinance.co.uk for acquisition and leveraged finance, ConstructionCapital.co.uk, CommercialMortgagesBroker.co.uk, and a network of specialist property-finance properties.
How we are different
- Lender-side experience at the top. Matt spent 25 years inside Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group on the credit side of corporate and property finance, including the senior debt behind buyouts. Every case we package benefits from knowing how the paper is read at the other end.
- Structure before lender. Most failed MBOs fail on structure, not on the business. We size the debt to the cash flow, fix the vendor loan and equity gap, and only then approach funders.
- Whole-of-market, not a favourite bank. High-street banks, challenger banks, specialist cash flow lenders, asset based lenders, mezzanine funds and private equity houses underwrite buyouts very differently. We put the case in front of the ones that fit.
- Confidential by default. Nothing goes to a funder until the team says so, and nothing goes to the vendor at all unless you ask us to help with that conversation.
- Compliance-first. Every page states our regulatory status plainly, every figure is labelled indicative and dated, and we never quote a rate we cannot evidence.
The team
Based in London and working UK-wide. Matt works alongside an introducer network of corporate finance advisers, accountants and solicitors who act for management teams, acquirers and vendors.
